Easy going , sweet and considerate is how I would describe Mandy and Drew. They said their I do’s on the beautiful beach of Pensacola Florida in front of one hundred and fifty of their closest friends and family. It was a good time had by all. Staying at the Hotel Margaritaville and reception held at the Land Shark the celebration continued all night long thanks to the Black Jackets. Shooting shotgun on the stills was the super cool Posh Images. Check out their trailer below and don’t forget to like and share!

  • TOP 5 MISTAKES COUPLES MAKE BEFORE THEIR BIG DAY

This is most likely your first wedding you have planned. The are so many variables you need to consider but where to start  Well here are the top 5  regrets most couples have after its too late.

#5 – Ceremony location was too far from my reception.

This happens more than ever. Your doing your prep at one place. Travelling to another spot for your ceremony and then travelling again to your reception. Most couples that had their reception more than 20 mins from their ceremony said they hated all the commuting. Also out of towners got lost or disoriented. As a wedding videographer I know that if we are driving more than we are filming your really missing a lot of creative time for photos and video.

#4 – Wish we weren’t so obsessed with not seeing each other before the ceremony.

Doing a “First Look” is such a great way to create content and shake all the butterflies. The groom is still going to see you coming down the aisle with your father. It is still going to be just as grand and epic as it normally is. There is no way you could take anything away from that moment I promise. When the ceremony starts its going to be all formal. You two wont be able to talk , laugh or have any intimate moment like you will from doing a fist look. It also creates time to get all your portrait stuff shot as well as some creative video set ups. If your having a late ceremony in the fall or winter months, seriously re think doing a first look.

#3 – We should have spent more money on a great photographer

After all your flowers have withered away. Your expensive dress is in a box stored in the closet.  Your band or dj are long gone.  Your only going to have two take aways from it all and thats your photo and video.  Place priority in your budget to book a great tog and cinematog. The day is going to fly by.

#2 – We should have slowed down and enjoyed the day.

There is plenty of time before your big day to freak out and be a bridezilla. But on your wedding day…just chill, smile and enjoy it. Its your only shot. The couples that focused on all the little details say that they feel they missed the whole experience all together.

and the #1 regret and most important to me

#1 We wish we had a video of the wedding.

Most couples that never hired a videographer to shoot their wedding said the were not aware of how much wedding films have evolved. They never knew how completely bad ass  it is to share your day with family and friends who could’t make it to the wedding.

If you had a choice to see your great great grandparents wedding. Would you rather look at photos or hear their vows and see their movements?

Bottom line is that if you place a high priority on your video and photo’s . Keep your locations close as possible  and don’t be worried about seeing one another beforehand. You will then in turn create the perfect storm for an epic wedding film and great pictures. I promise you won’t regret it.

When Rachel contacted me to shoot her hubby coming home from the war I was honored at the opportunity. Josh provided us footage from his company while they were over seas and I mixed it with their web cam videos they sent to one another. I wanted to tell the story of what couples go through during this long time apart and how patience and trust see them through. I hope you enjoy.

Jason called me up saying he wanted to film his proposal he was planning at the Jule Collins Smith Museum at Auburn Alabama. The plan was for us to already be there filming a commercial for the JCSM when they arrived. Jason would then approach us interested in what we were doing and I was to ask if they would let us film them. Things didn’t quite go as planned cause Bridget didn’t want to wear our mics. Luckily Jason insisted on wearing his and so we began filming this secret proposal in front of their family and friends. Check out their video below and watch it all unfold!
